March 23 – 29
This week, I worked on cleaning up a lot of the shots. I still need to work on the last two shots and make sure they’re an effective and impactful ending. There are still some other shots that are a little messy, the shots of the hare getting picked up from the ground, especially. I knew these shots would be challenging and time-consuming, but I still underestimated how long it would take to clean up. Simply due to the level of detail I added, specifically for the full-body shot, it took a while, even though the hare hardly moves, and it’s only about 6 frames of animation. Definitely a helpful lesson to learn about simplifying what is being animated, since I did initially think I simplified it enough- I did not. Although I am happy with how it’s turning out and I like the amount of detail I gave, it just might not have been the best choice considering how much time is left in the semester.
Next week, I would like to be done with colouring all the shots, so I would still have a week to do any compositing. I learned a simple way to add shadows directly in harmony, and Nai’a is helping with more complex compositing in After Effects. I still need to finish up a few backgrounds and the sound. The music is also in progress and almost done.
