March 9 – 15
I continue to focus on rough animation and backgrounds. Below is a layout and colour study I sent to Denise to work on the background for shot#12. I decided to change the composition compared to what I planned in the animatic, moving the tomatoes to the left-hand side. I also no longer intend to animate the gardener walking away; I don’t think it’s entirely necessary, and it’s a lot of extra work.

Shot#9 Background + Exploration. This shot has the bin open, so I worked on how the shadows and lighting would look. The bin is without its lid, since it will be animated.

I also worked on the background for shot #15, focusing on lighting since the scene takes place at night.

I might add the rough animation I’ve been working on later… or I will add it when more is complete (for another week), but so far I have done half the shots’ rough animation. Nai’a also finished two of those shots for the rough animation that I will clean up and send back to her for colouring. I am still considering a title for the film. I would like to plan out the title, so I hope to get this figured out this upcoming week.
